So interestingly this happened today during my game!

    ** GAME STATISTICS 4.06 **

This game has been running for 31 days.
    This game is NOT registered.

    (On Diskshop BBS)

so I exited and re-entered the game and

This game has been running for 31 days.
You are playing a REGISTERED game.

So there might be a bug with the registration in the game. I unfortunately don't know if it's during a game or just at loadtime if it fails to believe it's registered or not.

This might explain why some codes for people still seem to fail at times. Perhaps something to do with the setup of calling from Windows->Dos or Linux->Dos, hard to say without more information.

The real downside to this was that the game totally fucked me over in a
couple of ways because it decided it wasn't registered. :D

Indeed that I've noticed anyways. Mainly came to my attention because I spent some gems on potions and it cursed me saying my sysop was at fault. I also
went to Turgon's and it said I couldn't level because the game was unregistered. So I checked the config from the main menu and it said it was unregistered which was bizarre. So I exited out and when I came back in it
was registered again and all was seemingly fine.

I'm sure if I hadn't done the gem thing I wouldn't have noticed since nothing else seemed amiss.

We should just build a LORD 1 for 1 clone and call it a day. It's everyone's (most people's) favorite game and it will forever be stuck with a bunch of papercuts.

Tis an option I guess...certainly would allow for better ibbs type features
and I'm sure a plethora of other things. Considering there are newer
LORD-likes existing today we could modify one of them into an engine that you could just skin to be anything, including LORD.

We could also just outright crack lord so that sure you can reg for the
optics but otherwise completely neutered from an actual validation standpoint.

If it would help I have two different keygen's for 4.06 I can give you. although one of them does give me the same problem you described. I couldn't level until I logged out and back in..

I'd be careful with trying to do something more ambitious
than just a straight-forward clone. Projects like that
often smack of second-system effect and get stalled.

LOL yes I do. I have a DOS board still running (on port 27) that has
nearly 100 DOS doors online. I thought I might try to see if For Honour
would compile in DOS but I never have. I was thinking the JS code for Lord
