• Using Menucmd ('MW'...) in an MPL Script

    From stizzed@77:1/104 to All on Thu May 7 23:08:50 2020
    As a menu option in startup.mpl Im using:
    MenuCmd ('MW','/to:sysop /subj:Feedback');
    to allow callers to send a message to the sysop. They are obviously not logged in at the time of execution. This worked in A43 but appears to be broken in A45. Is there a known change that disabled this functionality or is this a bug? I have looked through the update notes and see nothing that explains
    the problem.

    Thanks in advance!

    Interstingly, I'm using the menu command itself in my matrix for the same purpose and it still works fine. Odd that it would only be broken in MPL!

    Ill test this from a menu to see if it works. That should eliminate my
    config as the problem. This has worked in A43 for over a year. I upgraded
    to A45 and noticed that it stopped working after a fellow SysOp installed the script in A45 and told me that the function didnt work for him.

    Thanks!

    I am assuming the Sysop name isn't set.

    You may need to set you SysOp name, and if that is not it check to see what your "Post ACS" is for your E-mail base.

    For the record, in my case the recipient name is set to my handle, and my
    post ACS in my email base is default - now that you say that, I feel like I encountered that being a problem using pre-login feedback at one point
    myself, maybe in another setup, or maybe have an upgrade (long ago.)

    I set cleared my 'Post ACS' config (no security) and it works now. Im
    calling the menucmd from startup.mpx as part of my login. It basically
    allows anyone to post to email.
