I did see that Mystic supports some sort of access flags. Could this be my thing?
That is how I would do it, and have that set up on here as well. There
are certain areas, for example, my testing menu. There are a few users that I want to have access, so I require a flag for that option from the main menu. In this case, it's 'T' for testing. If the user has that
flag, the option will show on the main menu.
So, here is what I wanna do. I have a 'special' (I'll just let you sit
on what that might mean) section of the board (files and msg bases) that
I want to provide access to on an individual (case-by-case) basis. I
have four security levels 10-unvalidated, 20-regular, 100-visiting
sysop, and 255-me!
How should I configure Mystic to allow access to these special sections? Some visiting sysops might have access, some might not. ;)
Thanks Dan! Thats what I was thinking. However, I am unable to find the access flags anywhere but the security level editor. How in the world
do I set the access flag to match say, in a file group or area? Access(menus and groups) and ACS field (bases and areas)? If so, whats the syntax?
For a file area, for example, you would have the access set to 's100fF'. This would allow anyone with security level of 100 and above, who also have the access flag of 'F' assigned. If you wanted to assign flag R,
you would use 'fR' in the ACS settings.
Use access flags. That's what they are there for. Set a flag for all the message bases and message group and set the same access flag for each
user who needs access to them. This way, it doesn't matter what their security access is set to.
Thanks a bunch! I know exactly what I need to do now!
