I recently discovered Doom 64 thanks to a random Youtube video autoplay. I always assumed Doom 64 was a port of original Doom to N64. Boy was I wrong.

Google Doom 64 EX, get the launcher (hope you have Windows :P ), get the SDL DLL fix, throw it in the same dir. Grab a ROM (google it) and use the other executable in the game dir to rip it.

Doom 64 is the BEST original-flavor Doom available. Maybe it's because it
feels similar...but different enough to be new and exciting.

Anyone else mess with this? Do we need to set up a coop game?

Yep. I didn't own it at the time (in fact, the fact that it was such a departure was one of the main reasons why I didn't buy it) but years later learned how fucking cool it was and tracked down a copy. Unfortunately I
barely played it, and recently sold off my entire N64 collection.
