I am, I just hope they don't fuck it up. With any series that is beloved by so many, they have a higher bar than most. The last thing we want to end up with is some brutal take on a great story. Not like it hasn't happened before.

Yes! The trailer makes it look AMAZING. This has always been one of my favorite sci-book series, and one I think about often. I think I discussed this a few messages prior.

The AppleTV+ production looks to be of very high quality. I believe it's release has been delayed because of Covid, but it's still expected this year.

The original Foundation series from Asimov was quite ok.

They overdid it a bit with the prequels and fanworks though.

I totally agee. It's hit and miss. I wasn't too pleased with the Dune series.
I thought the take on Arthur C Clarkes "Childhoods End" wasn't too bad. Being this is an Apple production I'd like to think that it will be pretty solid.
We have what looks like a decent range of actors in it and some special
effects but as you know that may not be enough. Here's hoping.

Too bad it's been delayed. With the way things are going right now... I need this.. we need this series. In a sense because of how detailed the story is, I'm glad that they waited to bring it to the big screen. I'm finding with
these small production houses like Apple and Netflix.. they are bringing out some really great shows.

I've read pretty much of all of Foundation (that Asimov himself wrote). Haven't read any Foundation books by other authors. I've also read the "Galactic Empire novels, but didn't get a chance to really get started on the Robots series. They do sound good too.

I'm looking forward to seeing Foundation. The trailer on Apple TV looks great.

The Robot series had more filosophical potential in it, that is for sure. I also like a lot of the Robot stuff but I have
fonder memories of the Foundation series. Probably because the Foundation series I read as a kid, and nostalgia works that way.
