Anyone else catch Another Life on Netflix yet?

It is produced and stars Katee Sackhoff who played Starbuck in the Battlestar Galactica reboot as well as co-starring in Longmire.

Without spoiling anything, it has a BSG feel to it.

I have only watched the first 4 episodes and I am quite digging it (then
again, I am a huge SciFi fan). A proper space opera.

I've finished working through the rest of the season and I can confirm that
the remaining episodes are just as good as the first 4.

    Hi!

Anyone else catch Another Life on Netflix yet?

Me, it's interesting but has too much drama and some things like... you have instant calls across the universe (Quantum Entanglement maybe), and Warp
drives ... but you are still using jeeps xD

It's funny (If I disable my trekkie mode) xD

I guess I'm the only one who likes it, lol. I was and still am a huge BSG
fan, maybe I am just blinded by Starbuck.

All kidding aside, I like a good space opera, something with a prolonged
story as opposed to a creature of the week type show.

I'm also a huge trekkie, but I can't look at SciFi shows with Trekkie
coloured glasses on as nothing would compare.

Me too, I've to be honest, I started to see the show by the same thing xD

One of the best things of the show is the crew. One dies ... don't worry, we have a replacement in the fridge xD

I very much enjoyed season 1 - is that all there is?

Was never a BSG fan (well, the old shows when I was a kid...), but I've
seen her in Flash so when I ran across this show I watched it and very
    much enjoyed it!

Personally I thought the remake was a brilliant show. Ron Moore was a
terrible ST:TNG writer, but he sure nailed the space opera aspect of BSG.

I found the BSG remake boring as bat shit, couldn't get past season 2. Have the DVDs, haven't seen the rest of it. :/

Chalk me up as another person who loved it. It wasn't without issues as it
went on, but overall I really like that whole fighters on a carrier ship
focus - takes me back to vegging on Wing Commander back in the day. :)

I actually thought it looked pretty silly when it first came out. My brother and his SO were really into it, but then again he grew up on the original so I blamed it on nostalgia. I didn't end up watching it until after the entire
run was released. I watched it again with my girlfriend (who also liked it) a year or two ago and still really enjoyed it. That said, I can definitely see numerous things about it that might turn people off.

Yeah, I just couldn't get into it, and several others found the same.

My wife runs the other way when it comes to any SciFi story (funny, because
she loves fantasy stories) but with BSG, during the initial run, she was glue to it. She was the one who actually turned me on to it when the mini-series first aired.

I recently just finished "Another Life", Netflix series. I had to see it to the end but it was painful. Anyone see this one?

The premise is typical, alien artifact on earth, bunch of so called astronaught teens, last hope for humankind go on a wild trek searching for clues.

I don't want to ruin too much here except to say that it was poorly executed and not believeable. Although the characters were interesting, it did not fit the story.

It is weird, because when I read "astronaut teens" I was imagining the characters were not going to be interesting.

I miss the old days in which heroes were tough adventurous people who boasted over-the-top courage. Sadly, it looks like the trend, specially in streaming services, is to feature heroes who are more concerned with having their hair right. Not saying this is the case, but this is the first thing that came tom mind when I read "astronaut teens" and "Netflix" in the same post XD.
