Thoughts on the ending....
I think it ruined the franchise. Maybe that's a bit over the top, but I can't enjoy the good parts of the story thanks to this drivel.
Personally I find George RR Martin a fantastic story teller. When I picked up
a copy of the first book in the series, shortly after it was released years ago, I craved more and waited un-patiently for the next one in the series to
be released.
He is a master story teller, he sinks the hook in you and you are taken for a ride. When HBO ran out of material and went on their own journey they whole franchise seemed to take a downturn.
I don't know if it was money or Martin's will to see the story play out on TV before he wrapped it up with words, but I do know that I have to unlearn what
I saw in the last few seasons in hopes that his remaining two novels create a much better world.
