Hi,
I'm setting up my old spitfire BBS as a point off of my mystic box. Just need to see if mail is tossing again. No need to reply, unless you want to. :-)
Robert
Consider yourself replied anyway.
Now I need to come up with some interesting subject worth talking about. Hmmmm.... I
am writing a science fiction story. In the distant future, an obsolete
war machine
protects a dying alien orphan as social order collapses. Do you enjoy science fiction?
I'm always game for science fiction stories, especially if they involve aliens. This thread will be helpful since mystic is not tossing the mail into a directory for spitfire to pick up. The more messages, the better. LOL
Thanks,

Hmm, interesting premise, sounds like a good story coming up. :)

I finished it last night. I was supposed to be sleeping, but the story
was kicking
within my brain and I just couldn't close my eyes at all. I just sat
down and completed the thing.
It is in the hands of my Alpha proofreader. When I have some polished draft I may
beg for beta proofreaders around here :-)

If you are serious and can get the story read in 7 days (which is easy
it
takes 10 minutes to read), I think I am sending you a link :-P

Only issue, what can I access Gophers with these days? Seems a
modern web browser no longer works. :(

Use xtrn/go-for on your Synchronet BBS. :D

Might have to be my goto. Lynx will at least display Gophers
nicely, unlike a lot of websites. :)

Yep, it does work nicely on Gophers. I don't often use/visit
gopher sites, but Lynx is fine. Agreed on the (lack of)
performance of it with modern (bloated) websites.

Yeah, Gophers are at least nice simple text based services, not the bloated mess that is the modern web.

Which is funny, because half the web mess has not to do with the
transport protocol (http). Or at least didn't use to until
http2.
Let's face it, what screws the web is loads of javascript over ten thousand images over complex layouts over applications
