• Learning how to make ANSI graphics

I'm uising moebius to make my ansi screens for 'Voyages' and notice a tick optino for foreground and background. I'm assuming this means that background is for framing a graphic and the foreground is for filler?

I have screens my intentions are to have lights coming on and off depending on the function. Off/on, things like that. is this the purpose of background and foreground?

You could use it for that, I guess. Foreground would be the main focus of
the screen, while background would be the color of the "canvas" that you
are "painting" the ansi on. I wish I had a good example, but most of my screens have a black background.

I guess a good example would be if you want to create a menu that is green (background) with white letters on it (foreground). In that case, the background would be what you are typing the foreground characters onto.

I am not sure that background matters as much if you are trying to create a picture, though. Like, if you wanted a green dragon with an orange or red
sky in the background, you might wind up using foreground characters to
create the whole thing on a black background.

Ok. I tried coloring the background but it doesn't let me. Maybe Moebius is the wrong software for me. I want some of my screens to have a small level of interactivity. I'm sure that's possible.

    I understand what you mean.

They will more often than not be pictures of a scene or map, and some interactivity. Some elements changing color, for instance. Or powering something on where the item goes from red to green, things like that. nothing major or beyond the limits of the character set.
