oh God. I'll get in trouble here; without the super FBI looking threat sentry thing - that Stackfault is awesome for pulling off... but reminds me of 'stock Mystic cool dude' installs. :P
I like Stack Faults Press ESCAPE twice because it has those big ANSI countdown numbers.
I'm not sure you need both the catchpa and the Escape. Maybe one or the other. Or can it remember the IP address after you do the catchpa once, and not make you do it again?

While some of these more elaborate mods are no doubt very cool pieces of work, honestly, I require a single ESC on Distortion and I've yet to observe a script/bot that has defeated it.
I like the dual esc thing simply because that's how frontdoor and intermail worked back in the day :P

It certainly isn't needed. Good to KNOW that less is more.
Yeah, I had originally implemented it that way for that exact reason,
but it occurred to me that to anyone who wasn't around networked boards back in the dial-up days it would only be an extra annoyance on top of serving no practical purpose. Besides, you can still hit ESC twice if it makes you happy. ;)
I think distortion's implementation of the 'esc' challenge is that any /other/ keypress will result in a dropped carrier, right? This is
probably pretty effective.
I have the dual esc/dual tab config with a 15 second timeout. It's probably annoying but I'm the only person that logs into my board anyway and I fear change. So it's here to stay. muahaha.

I have an escape key on my phone. but I don't use a stock keyboard.
And if I were using Termius Telnet App on my phone, I believe it provide anescape button as well.

I initially meant the comment as a joke, but I now have been educated on two methods to avoid hitting the esc key while using my phone to connect to my bbs (which I don't do anyway), lol.

You'd have to use the fTelnet keyboard on the fTelnet app.
