Ok, I'm casting from ezstream to icecast. From PC chrome, I can view https://shsbbs.net/video.html just fine. It doesn't work from any phone I've tried though. My radio station at https://shsbbs.net:8443/stream cast using vlc and icecast works fine on phone or PC. https://shsbbs.net:8843/shurato.ogg is a direct link to the video stream. There's got to be a way I can stream directly to android chrome using phones without having to use a streaming service. I'm not making any money on this, or charging anything, it's just a hobby. I'll be upping my upstream tuesday from 10mbps to 20mbps, which will help some by increasing the number of simultaneous streams I can support.

Ok, I've only tried Chrome. VLC plays https://shsbbs.net:8843/shurato.ogg though on an android phone, but that url or the embedded video on the page don't seem to like Chrome. Thanks! It's possible that Chrome just doesn't like ogg video.

My phone may not have a fast enough connection, it only streams for about 5 seconds. I tried the URL in VLC as well and it streams for about 10. On the PC it streams the whole thing. What results do you have?

the ogg url plays but is choppy. unwatchable really but it doesn't "die"
after any period of time. the /video url played indefinitely and i put it fullscreen and watched a while. that seemed perfectly normal.

if the ogg codec isn't hardware accelerated (by the phone) maybe that's why?

i would see if icecast will support HLS, h264, etc.

Ok, thanks! Good to know. I'm surprised the direct url didn't work, but the video url should use the embedded player and work a bit better, which isn't unexpected. Still wish I could get this to work with Chrome... Thanks!

Have you tried azuracast? Its an easy server to setup and many good configure options. Everything I have tried works well with it. I also know that Meatlotion runs a radio station and has had good luck with it aswell.

I run mine in a VM and it plays old Tracker Tunes. Mostly just me listening but its light and stable

This is for casting Video. I don't have any problems casing radio to android phones using both icecast and shoutcast. Thanks, though! I wouldn't mind a better easy video casting solution that would work with android phones and Crhome. Firefox and VLC seem to work fine.

Thanks, I just want to stream from my own web site. I can do that with ezstream and icecast.
