I've watched a couple of episodes so far and although I see some familiar Marvel characters going through the motions I can't say the plot nor the pacing of the show is doing much for me.

I worry that Marvel may have over-stretched itself in many ways.

I watched both as well .. I like the show .. seeing how it is in the "future" compared to the movie it came from.

I saw that he (Sam L. Jackson) Exec. Produced it.

I take all these movies/shows with a grain of salt -- they (creators) always try to make it fit into the Marvel Universe, but if it doesn't match the timeline, they just create a new one (parallel universe) to please the fans .. or try to.

I just see this as a sequel to Capt. Marvel .. no other MCU needs to be included for me. But I'm not normal LOL

I did like the little ".. put the suit on .." comment from Don Cheadle/James Rhodes.

I remember that show .. had to IMDB it .. didn't even know (or remember that) Jason Momoa was in it compared to how "famous" he is today.

Rachel Luttrell was lovely.

i finally watched Universe.. once they got over trying to be edgy and overly dramatic like Battlestar Galactica it reverted into an O-K Stargate show. not required watching by any means, but it's something.

other things you might like that are Stargate adjacent (executive producers, writers, and other associated people involved):

Dark Matter (this one reeeallly gives off Stargate vibes)
Travelers
Sanctuary (w/Amanda Tapping. haven't gotten to this one yet personally)
Falling Skies (bit meh, but if you like Noah Wyle.. speaking of..)

if you like the Stargate movies, obviously Roland Emmerich makes good stuff, but Dean Devlin also did the "Librarians" movies/tv series.. a bit like Eureka/Warehouse 13 but the tv show leans into the 4-5 person team stuff and a bit of "oops so and so got captured/poisoned/whammied" type of thing.

I think that's probably a way to keep the 'star' happy and engaged and paid more :)

That parallel universe thing is getting a little tired for me but I
agree it's a easy way to negate a bunch of hassles... still the more universes you spin up the more complicated it gets I guess??
