yes I like it for those reasons also.. I wonder what EP3 has them doing next?

I know most of the Human race doesn't care to care .. if that makes sense, but as with any Futuristic Human Existence SciFi show/movie says, "we need a fundamental change in our thoughts/society for us to continue to move forward and survive." - or something like that .. I'm not one of those guys that is left or right, but more in the middle -- live and let live -- however, I hate (strongly dislike) those that hurt others on purpose (hackers, thieves, elected officials, local used car dealers, etc. LOL) .. It is still all about $$$$ no matter what country you live in and that is what I agree with that needs to change. If a couple countries can get together to advance the Space Program - that is a step in the right direction (albeit not enough because they more than likely still haven't been able to understand or fix their local issues, etc.) ..

My upbringing was typical Single Mom, No Father, etc.etc.etc., so I already had my perceptions of the world by the time I hit high school. Then, I joined the Military and was sent around the world and that opened my eyes more - love how some countries take care of their young/elders alike .. while the middle seems to be like most any other country (including my own).

Now today's world: I would sound like my grandfather in regards to things like Twitter/Facebook/Reddit, etc. Humans are sooooo into I NEED MORE LIKES that they can't live in the real world or deal with reality when the power goes out. I liked BLACK MIRROR for those reasons as well, if anyone has seen that series.

Sorry to go way off topic, but I just wanted to give a little feedback as to why I was so interested in the show for personal reasons -- not to mention I have been a SciFi Geek since I was a pre-Teen.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you seems to be
    consistent with that approach.

I really liked the one episode that was a cool cat-n-mouse type
story where the "victim" tries to outsmart the attacker. it was
very intense at times. I can't saw much more unless I mention
    spoilers. I think it was S4 E4

I think sci-fi is a genre that authors/writers explore and
propose their philosophical ideas and emote commentary on
    society as well.

So I've been reading Marcus Aurelias journals and what not, and humans
haven't changed in 2000 years, I don't think we are going to now and they
are just the entrenched interests to stop us. We would need a world
altering event, and I'm not even sure that would do it.

I though the covid lockdowns were an "world altering event".

You might be right about COVID, but all it did was alter everything for
the worse...maybe there is no way out!!! Maybe if England wins the World
    Cup that will do it.

So after watching this week's episode and the Ready Room episode as well, I found out that the 2nd season of LOWER DECKS were all recorded from the actors' homes due to COVID.

If you all haven't seen this week's crossover SNW+LDs, I found it to be very humorous to say the least. SPOCk and PIKEs facial expressions are over the top for me. Having the two voice actors become part of the "crew" and wear actual uniforms for the show was great. And, yes, they do look like their cartoon/animated counterparts as well.
