Sat down and watched both the original Christmas Story and the recently released sequel A Christmas Story Christmas. We all loved it, my kids prefered the oringinal, but my wife and I LOVED the new one as we can relate to it as we are older now and parents.

Curious if anyone on here has seen it and what they thought of it?

The movie was better than I expected. It's not as good as the original, but it works and is relatable for adults who have been watching the original for decades. Amazing how much of the original cast was able to be in the sequel.

I agree Ganiman. This new sequel was directed towards us the adults and not necesarily our kids. The original will always remain a classic. As for the original cast it surely was exciting to see how many of the original actors returned. It definitely added that extra magic this movie needed.

I saw this gem recently. There was just enough nostalgia in it that it didn't seem cheap. You can tell Ralph wrote and while there was some stuff I didn't care for, it was well done. Agreed, the movie was more for the adult fans than anything. Hey it worked for me but yes I do prefer the original for the holidays.
