I use servo stick that automatically adjust between 4 or 8 positions depending on the game (works through LEDBlinky and the MAME.INI) and I like the feel of them. I was going to switch to the Ultrastic's but have decided to stick with my servosticks for now.

It is pretty slick, when you start a game there is a little servo on the joystick that moves a plate to either restrict it to 4 positions or un-restrict

it to 8 positions depending on the game.
