Just wondering if I am the only one who..

    a) knows of this computer/firm?
    b) used one back in the 80s?

Would love to find one in the flesh now, just for nostalgic reasons.

Nope, never heard of it before. I only know about the Canon Cat ;).

Wikipedia says, "Around the time of the /8, development the CADO CAT computer came into being. It looked like a fruit-coloured iMac, but it was 20 years earlier". Does anyone have pictures? I couldn't find any fruit colored C.A.T. on the net.

OMG! What a blast from the past!

Way back in the distant past I worked for "O'Reilly Computers" later to
become Trilogy Business Systems in Melbourne and one of the companies in the Merger were the Cado People! Found my self working on Cats and Tigers! Great big Bread-bin machines the Cats from memory and the Tigers were a very reasonable Tower format mini computer! I seem to recall having a "boot strap" tape for a Tiger in my toolbox - if memory does not fail me!

    What a memory!

    Mark.

Sadly the only pictures I have are in my head! If I recall the base part was a dirty light brown colour and had a bay/bays for 5Mb 8" Winchester drives?

The Tigers where a very neat looking "tower" configuration and light Grey
    from memory.

My Dad used to own one of these Cado systems for his family business. I used to go into the business on the weekend when it was shut and 'play' with the computer.

I did a lot of learning about word processing and used the Just Ask database software a lot. I also found some of the system logins and could get access to probably configure stuff I should not have :)

I recall putting my mums cooking recipes into a Just Ask database and printing all of them out.

I also remember being able to print annual calendars with Snoopy at the top and a cute program that generated biorhythm stuff.

What great memories! Sadly I only ever got to see them when there were issues or if we were upgrading or installing systems / software! I do recall how impressive I found the Tiger systems compared to all the others we maintained at the time! Funning how you forget things! If I recall many systems had
great little utilities like themed calendar printers etc! The Sord M23 and
    the like had the same!
