Even the Atari BBS community has an Aussie in it. ;)
That doesn't surprise me in the slightest. We had everything under
the sun down here. If there was a pooter someone was importing them.
Early Ataris used to be sold through "Brashes" here, a nominal music
and hifi store.
To go with that we had all sorts of user groups kicking around too..

And you had the amazing Tony Barker! He did all kinds of Atari
related stuff including the huge "Tina" demo for the Atari Falcon 030
that actually was used in a commercial in Australia. Hat's off, I
say! :)

Don't think I've ever actually seen the Tina demo... that, or I just
didn't know that was what it was called.
Then again, I can't say I was a huge demo dude.

Wow... I'll have to check the "Auntie" demo out. ;)

Everyone should - it's simply awesome (especially for it's time)... :)
Never heard of the Tina demo, but then always felt demos were a waste
of time and space. I'm having a watch now.... ahhh sure it might have
been impressive for the time...but its not doing anything for me :P
I s'pose I was exptecting a bit more in the sound dept.

Looks like some of it might have served as inspiration for some IIgs
demos,

Don't you mean "Simply the best"? "Better than all the rest"?
The interesting thing about the last one is that it will fit on, and
run from a floppy disk. :)

I figured that was trademarked and I didn't want the patent police
pounding on my door. :)

Have you ran that demo? If you haven't, try it out sometime. What
they managed to pack onto one floppy drive, and running from an unaccelerated Falcon with 4 megs of RAM is pretty astounding.
As far as what P.Pera would say - who knows? :)
