I was in a well-known local othernet called NIRVANAnet, and we had quarterly gettogethers. Good times, those. Finding a restaurant that
can handle a party of N, where N varies between 2 and 25 was a
challenge.
Being a sysop meant getting lots of drinks bought on our behalf, and
we had a couple of relationships bloom online and at the
gettogethers.

I hear ya. Fortunately for us, the manager at the local Pizza Hut was
very accomodating.
Dang it, at the time the county that the Pizza Hut was located at was
"dry" so no drinks were bought for me. It just ain't right, I tell
ya. :)

Doesn't seem like it'd be that big a deal to just drive to the
neighboring county. :P

There were underage kids present too. Also, some people had been
dropped off and had no transporation until being picked up after the meeting was over... So yeah, a no go situation. :)

The funny thing is, the kids probably could have told you the best
places to bootleg the booze.
