ONA:fsx5wsikeq5tdj5gx7wimf53ub2krglm5brfzz6nbvbwywzhg6za.onion,OBN,OFC
and/or distribute it as a separate list in binkd format:
node 21:9/999@fsxnet fsx5wsikeq5tdj5gx7wimf53ub2krglm5brfzz6nbvbwywzhg6za.onion
I wonder what the best way to list v3 Onion addresses. Would it be acceptable to put the address in a new flag or is it too long for the nodelist? We could use O?? flags that mirror the I?? flags, like
OBN:fsx5wsikeq5tdj5gx7wimf53ub2krglm5brfzz6nbvbwywzhg6za.onion
and/or distribute it as a separate list in binkd format:
I actually prefer the first format (with the OBN flag), ie: a single file with all the info. From this file, folks can write a script to extract whatever is required for binkd (or other mailers).
Is anyone in this net is using a "certain broken segment processor"? ;)
I'll put you in my segment with the OBN flag, and we'll see what happens hey? ;)
So I put you in, and makenl didnt complain...
Not sure if Avon is updating from my segmenet yet though...

I dont think modern mailers use it these days? I know in my BBS environment, Synchronet, binkd they are not using a nodelist for
anything.

BinkIT, Synchronet's mailer, uses the ASCII distribution nodelist,
not a processed/compiled version. Nodelists are small enough and
BBSes fast enough that I don't see the benefits of a binary formatted
nodelist over reading raw text.
Wasn't a lot of the functionality in compiled nodelists including
per-BBS long-distance cost tables into the list?
When the Fido nodelist was 25,000 nodes and I was running Frontdoor
on a 286, definitely...
but you don't have my v3 address. My nodelist also wouldn't exceed 157 characters even with the long onion v3 address.

Oh, I thought you posted that the other day...
OK, I'll remove it.
