Perhaps the tool could take the country code but also print the full name alongside - some countries are easier to figure out than others.
Not sure the ***** lines across are needed as they only really show
scale forthe first 4-6 entries then the rest are all so small in numbers it rendersthe horizontal bar chart not very useful.
What causes this entry?
0.39% AnyCountry *
I was already thinking about doing that. I figured once everything was uniform I could work on implementing it. :)
Yeah... When I added that, I thought there would be more listings with more nodes. I can probably remove that.
0.39% AnyCountry *
That is from node 21:1/999. In my test copy of the nodelist, I had just added the 'XXX' to the end of that field, so it was ,AnyCountry_XXX, in the nodelist. I'm not sure if you have another idea as to what to do
with that entry, but that was my thought...
I've also been doing a bit of work with the BinkD report. Right now, it's displaying the nodes listed in the binkd.cfg file that do not have any connections for that time frame.
What I have been trying to incorporate, is figuring out how many days
it's been since they have connected. I ran into some issues, and erased about 50 lines of code. I'll restart that venture tomorrow. :)
Yep :) I think it would be a helpful addition. Thanks for looking into
it.
Hmm yeah in my ctl /999 has New_System,AnyTown_AnyCountry,New_Sysop but it'salso set as a PVT node etc.
I would think add options to manually exclude some stuff and this is one
I suggest leave it out... it's there just for sign-up/joining reasons only.
Also noted 3/100 was there listed which seemed strange.

sorry to hear that, hopefully the coming days will be kinder to you.
For some reason, Deon's system is showing in the logs as 3/0, so that's how it's displaying. I'm wondering if he has that address
listed first in his binkd.cfg file, instead of his 3/100 address...
So, I started working on adding the full country names. I actually downloaded a .csv file that I can read directly from.
I found there are some country codes in the nodelist that aren't on the list...
GER (I'm guessing Germany, but Germany is DEU)
Actually I did have 3/0 listed first. I've changed that to be listed after3/100 does that change things?
GER (I'm guessing Germany, but Germany is DEU)
Which country code system are we using? In sports Germany is usually GER nowadays ;). I don't see DEU very often, DE or D is more common.
GER is traditionally used in Fidonet as German echomail areas have the extension ".GER". Looks like FSX uses ISO 3 letter codes, so DEU would be consistent (but not retro-style).

I can remove that one from the list. The program isn't looking to see if thenode is private or not. It's just looking at the location field.

Ok, so I have it removing that entry. I have also added a check to
remove any 'country code' that is only 2 characters. In the latest nodelist, there was still the two with 2 char.
I have also removed the graph, as it was a bit redundant, and really didn't show how I had wanted it to.
listed twice. I have added a check for 'GER', and change it to 'DEU',
but I don't have it adding them together. I figure it will be corrected soon anyway. :)
NetCountry v1.0.1a(RCS)

Canada 25 9.80%
Germany 1 0.39%
Slovakia 1 0.39%
Greece 1 0.39%
After doing some thinking about this, does that entry need to be in the nodelist? It's not like we would be able to route netmail to an address that multiple systems may be using.
Just a thought. :)

I think they were in your segment, but I have changed them both now.
Thanks yep changing GER to DEU now...
suggest also print the nodelist file name etc. this is being generated from.
Looking good Dan... I'd like to include this report as a TXT file along withthe nodelist output as a TXT file in the infopack
Those weren't in my seg.... DOH! They were... I've changed them in my
.ctl file here as well... :)
Thanks yep changing GER to DEU now...
I'll remove the line that checks for 'GER' now. :)
I should be able to do that without a problem.
Hmmmm, for now, you might be able to include the one from the previous nodelist, as I need the nodelist to process the nodelist, to generate the report. (Oh, that hurt...) :)
I can also have the script file drop a copy of these into your filebox when they are processed.
I'll also see if I can get this to compile on Windows, and get you a
copy of it.

Thanks, I hope to do the Linux thing soon.
Ok, so I tried to compile these programs on Windows, and the NetStat program will not compile, unless I rewrite most of the program to remove the dependencies for the DOS unit being included. If I can get rid of
that unit, I wouldn't have to use the UNIX unit.
Both the Country Count and the BinkD Log programs compile just fine on Windows. (I was a bit surprised)
for month changes. So, when it ran, it was trying to read the log file
for 0 Nov, instead of 31 Oct. I do have that corrected, but I'm still tweaking the inactive nodes section. Basically, I don't like the way
it's working... :)

:) It's the name of the game to find a bug and squash it :)
