• Your Top 10 List

From Altere to All on Thu May 27 10:37:23 2021
Alright, I like to dabble on the weekends and DJ/KJ at some hole in the wall places here and there. Since we have people from all over the place, I wanted to see what everyones top 10 was, new or old songs, any genre.

    In no particular order:

    Dawn of Victory (Rhapsody)

"Tragic and furious the clash of the steel of the gods
and so magic the power, the sword in his valorous hands.
Oceans of fire are blasting the throne of the demons
and from distant red skies the hunders are calling his name

the name of the Master of Pain!"

    Mountains (Manowar)

    "I have no fear
    of death and glory
    both draw near!

Like a man is a mountainside
greatness awaits, for those who try.
None can teach you, it is all inside.
    Just climb!"

Egypt (The Chains are on) (Dio)

"When the world was milk and honey
And the magic was strong and true
    Then the strange ones came
    And the people knew

    That the chains were on"

    Hail and Kill (Manowar)

"Kill their servants, burn their hearts, stab them in the eyes!
Rape their women as they cry!"

    Evilized (Dream Evil)

"It seems like I am trapped in my own dreams
it seems like the walls are caving in.
When I close my eyes and start to fal asleep
something evil and dark takes over me."

    Sword of Damocles (Judas Priests)
"Stand tall rise up stay strong fighting your enemies
    Truth will find it's reward
If you live and die by the sword."

Out in the Cold (Judas Priests)

(Oddly, I don't remember the lyrics of this one, but it marked my childhood).

    Heart of Steel (Manowar)

    "Burn the bridge behind you
    there is no retreat.
There is only one way home!

Those who stand across the path
    and cut each other's throats
    will fall like melting snow.

And they will yield, and they will kneel
and will know our heart of steel was
too hard to break, too hard to hold."

Elizabeth I, II and III (Kamelot)

"What if there's a God a hell and heaven
Fire is the torment I must face
Dying by the souls I have forsaken
No one's going to catch my fall from grace!"

    Mystica (Axel Rudi Pell)

And well, a bunch of others that deserve to be in the list, but I am short of time for writing :-)

I am very much grounded in the 80s but with a nod to 70s and 60s and also
into the 90s and 00s... but for me that new wave synth pop sound was always appealing.

It's hard to list top 10 artists and songs but I could probably bang out a
    list of artists etc.

For me having worked in commercial radio and student/alternative radio during the 80s and 90s and 2000s my listening is quite wide/mixed :)

Being a DJ/KJ for the past 10 years, I tend to have the same issue.

I feel this way at times when I go to Spotify and struggle to pluck out a song/artist I want to listen to...

I find a Top10 very tricky, by the time I've finished choosing it typically I have a whole new and different Top10 going on...so in no particular order..

Winifred Atwell - Black and White Rag
    Noiseworks - Love Somebody
Aerosmith - HoodDoo Voodoo Medicine Man
Twisted Sister - We're not gonna take it
Roger Hodgson - Had a Dream
Paul Kelly - Before to Long
The Church - Happy Hunting Ground
    Concrete Blonde - Joey
Garbage - Only happy when it rains
CCR - Up around the bend
