If I'm on anything using the shoutcast directory, I can't listen to my station. If I go to http://shsbbs.net:8888 it opens up and plays fine.
It also plays fine from shoutcast or icecast in vlc. I am running Shoutcast 1 platform. I never figured out how to configure for
Shoutcast 2
different servers (shoutcast and icecast. icecast has https ssl,
shoutcast does not).

When Shoutcast 1 started throwing errors about not being able to update
the registry, I switched to version 2 - but got choppy output. I went
back to v1, since I'm not really worried about advertising my stream.
It's more for me or anyone who runs across it while on the board.

Why would SSL make a difference on a MP3 stream? Is it feeding on TCP
443 to get past firewalls that block odd ports?

The link available on the directory has ;icy=https at the end of it, so it's expecting https, but not finding it. I don't know how to do that
(if possible) in windows. I know it works in Linux.

I'm using stunnel at https://shsbbs.net:8883/, which loads the server
but doesn't play the music :(. If anyone can help on this, it would majorly be appreciated. I'd like to be listed in the directory and be
able to be listened to from that directory.

I haven't broken my server in a while, I'll take a look at mine and let you know what I find.
Yes, you ask winamp to play from your source dir (mp3-dir)
in winap - options/preferences/DSP/Effect, there should you have the shoutcast plugin, mine have the name SHOUTcast Sources DSP v2.4.0, you can config it by pressing configure active plugin down on that side, at tab Output, you have plenny of choise, press login tab and fill in server adress and port, and password is what you have wrote into .conf/ini file, stream id is 1, no username, press at output 1 and fill in the information, I have name: Radio-Station, URL http://192.168.0.106, Genre Educational, you have to start the shoutcast server first, I have it under C:\shoutcast, start up cmd with admin rights, then cd in to that dir, start shoutcast server with sc_serv.exe sc_serv.ini or what every your .ini file have for name, in V2 its called sc_serv.conf where you have set up all your info about the radio. In V2 I use the setup.bat, it was very easy to do.when all is doen, press connect in output 1. dont forget to open port if you are using a router.
my radio station is not been seen outside my network.
