• New User Password

From Apam@21:1/125 to All on Mon Oct 7 15:31:07 2019
I just added the ability to set a new user password to Magicka

This is a plain text password up to 32 characters.

To enable, add "New User Password = SOMESECRET" to the main section of bbs.ini

New users will then be prompted for the password before making an account, if they get it wrong it disconnects.

    The password IS case sensitive.

    Hi!

Just been messing around with Magicka today. Set it up on a pi for fun :)

Oh good stuff. Well it's nice to see you playing with it and active in this space again... looks like we rescued you from a few minutes of gaming :)

I'm just starting about my third run of installing Debian Linux on a box I bought for the BBS and HUB... but I am learning slowly about configuring it
and also how to set up things like samba for sharing stuff with my windows
box and vnc as that's what I would prefer to login to the box when it's headless but still use a gui (for now) while I learn my way.

Feels a bit daunting... but I'm learning by doing :)

Laugh. Yesterday I installed a new Linux VM. I've got all message
areas configured, files and working on doors now on my MagickaBBS
    setup.

I decided to not use a pi so I could (I hope) get a few of the dos
door games running much faster then the pi version.

Hehe, so you set it up again? or had a backup from your pi?

Yeah, should work better on x86/x86_64.

I'm not sure how much I'm going to do. I'm sure there's still some bugs
in the msglib (unless they fixed themselves... fingers crossed) it really
    needs to be rewritten.

Well have fun with it :)

    From scratch.

It still worked for me on the pi. The only bothersome bug is the
script one, but I just work around it. I'm trying to hunt down a
backup now so I can remember how to configure doorparty and have my
modified strings file but other then that just plugging away at it.
