• Talisman feature ideas

From Alpha@21:4/158 to all on Sun Feb 7 09:01:06 2021
Hey Tallies (I just made that up, sorry) --

Apam setup a way to report issues and suggest features. Which is
awesome. I've added a bunch, but was wondering what other sysops thought
    about them?

    https://gitlab.com/apamment/talisman/-/issues

Obviously 100% up to apam what (and when) things get addressed/added, but
was curious what ya'll -- and apam! -- thought about some of the ideas?

    Cheers,

They're all good. Sorry I've been a bit busy lately with other projects,
and we got airconditioning installed the other day, and now today the hot
water system is leaking (which isn't great as it's in the garage along
    with my computers)

I need to resetup a windows computer to work on things, I've got a
computer setup, just need to put VS back on it, but it's right next to
    the hot water system.

Anyway, I will get onto your ideas sometime, hopefully soon.

Yikes... hope you can sort those issues out. Great news about the aircon but the hot water sounds painful.

    [sfx of music]

Oh, the Mr Whippy van must be nearby as I can hear the music coming from his loud speakers...

    Gotta go! :)

Apam, no worries! Take care of business around the home, for sure :)

I'm *almost* done with my auto sig editor door, too :)

Yeah, it was very painful. water everywhere. :(

My computers didn't get wet though, but plenty of other stuff did.

They installed a big hot water system, where we had a small one before,
so it couldn't go where the old one went, and they had to move the
drainage out the front of the unit. which meant they had to put a pipe
behind all our stuff and through the brick work at the front :(

Feeling a little bit overwhelmed. Still need the electritian to come
tomorrow to hook it all up. And need everything to dry before I start
thinking about tidying it all back up...

Oh well. Hopefully this system won't leak for some time.

Poop... I hope nothing was damaged and it can all just dry out.

Is it the pipe that leaked?

You can only do so much in a day, so long as the stuff is off the ground and able to dry it'll be all good...

Oh well. Hopefully this system won't leak for some time.

    Yep!

Is it the pipe that leaked?

Nope, was leaking from the top, apparently it was rusted out.

Because the old tank was a small one, it was on a little shelf off the
ground, so the drainage pipe went out the back, but the new one being
large had to sit on the ground, and in order for the water to drain it
had to go out the front (due to gravity I guess, and not being possible
    to drain upwards).

Ah well. Wont really know what's damaged until I tidy up, likely
tomorrow. Shouldn't be too much, as I'm in the garage and sometimes the
rain comes in under the roller door, I've been careful to have most
things of value off the ground.

Anyway, I just got off the phone to my mum, who I haven't spoken to in a
while, and she's doing well, so feeling much better about things.

Ah, a leaking water heater... Hope all things are taken care off now so you don't need to go thru this again for a while.

That's very good that nothing of value was damaged.

Good to hear. I'm currently looking after my wife who had some sinus surgery last week. I took this week off as domestic leave to care for her. She's on
the mend and doing well. We go back to the surgeon for a check up tomorrow.

I've been doing all the household chores etc. and giving her a rest. During
my downtime I'm trying to progress changes to 1/100 and finally shift to
Linux etc... so that's been keeping me busy :)
