I just finished TIC processing in postie.

Still can't hatch, but it should be able to process incoming files......
I just have to wait for some to come through :)

Hey apam, not looking for someone to do it for me BUT.. I don't have the specialized knowledge, and... I didn't know the first thing about setting up an FTN under Talisman/Postie. :P Lol...

What OTHER software do I currently need to make it happen? Its pretty daunting ATM - so I hope you'll hold my spot in HappyNet for a moment while I figure it out.

You will need binkd to send and receive the mail, postie takes it from the inbound and puts it in your message base.

If you want I can send you an example binkd config file.

Once you've got binkd up and running, you then need to configure postie. There is a bit of duplication of config in setting up postie, although some stuff it gets from talisman.ini and archivers.toml.

Again I can send you an example postie.toml, though the one on the website should be enough to get started, if you want me to check yours feel free to email it to me.

FSXnet net 1 seems to be broken at present, so not sure if you'll get this or maybe it will take a little while.

Ok... I can do this. I mean, I setup BinkD on Mystic - just that its built in and all.... So I assume I'll have to build or download BinkD and then have config files for it and Postie.

Yes, I would love your sample configs... they answer a lot of questions for me and just... yea; please do send them to paulie420@gmail.com... it would be appreciated.

Yea, I've been noticing the fsxNet issues - Most of you know much more about this BBS stuff than me, but man... I can see how these types of networks can simply go away if the [main, hub] BBSes stop routing the traffic. Bing, and we're down.

Avon will handle it, I'm sure.. but yea I noticed that these past couple days too. Thanks for sending any files that may help me figure out my setup - I'm off to find 'binkd'
