Nope, I use DMR and also have D-STAR capability. ;)
... You were sent here as a warning to others, weren't you?

I have D-STAR capability also, might be time to start a weekly D-STAR group to discuss setting up the packet :)

I need to setup some sort of D-STAR network access first. :)
DMR is easier to organise for me, I have a hotspot on Brandmeister.
... Nobody notices when things go right.

I haven't purchased a DMR radio... I have P25 and D-STAR. I also have
a hotspot that I could leave connected to your local repeater. I
haven't used it since I set it up tho, I have to be honest the digital modes over the internet don't really excite me. I'm an analog type of guy :)
I will pull out the D-STAR radio today and charge it since it's just sitting in the box and I'll get out the hotspot and see if there are
any updates that need to be done.
When I was playing around with the hotspot originally about two years
ago or so there were D-STAR and DMR bridge networks available on my hotspot, perhaps we could discuss what the primary digital HT everyone
has and start there, then bridge in the other radios and get a talk
group going.

They have their uses. The main downside for me is that proprietary vocoder, which makes integration much more expensive. Instread of a simply software bridge like Asterisk or thelinkbox, you have to buy a hardware adapter and have your software talk to that for transcoding.
And that gets expensive very quickly. It's also a pain if you use a
VPS, because you have to send the audio to a site with the hardware and back again. :/
I'm not doing any of that (haven't had the money), but others have.

Well, I'm setup for DMR. I can do D-STAR, but would have to manually configure the hotspot to do so. Ideally, I'd like a second hotspot for D-STAR.

I wish I remembered, it was custom build and I believe the software was from your neck of the woods. The device is benched and in a box,
however I can see what box it's in and touch it, so it wouldn't take
took much of an endeavor to make it active again. I have so many
projects I need a handful of people to manage it all :) Sounds like
you do as well.

Tell you what, before you do any additional work let me get my D-Star
HT charged and get my hotspot connected, updated to the latest code and linked to your repeater and I'll drop your call sign a couple times to
see if I hear anything back. Once I get there I'll let you know :) What's the local repeater you would use with D-Star?
