g00r00 has been quite but he answered a post about this in the MYSTIC area and said that he doesn't maintain mysticbbs.com so he can't fix it himself but he is aware of it.

g00r00 was saying he had a new job and was moving sometime back so he is busy with stuff but he has not gone away. There hasn't been an update since August but when he can make the time you'll see updates at mysticbbs.com.

Z modem generally has issues with latency. Even over lan here it'll give
grief at times, and for some reason tends to fall over on larger files religously.

X is more forgiving in the latency respects.. it'll often work where Z won't but your mileage will vary wildly.

Something I'm surprised we've never collectively come up with is a more relevant tcp/ip file transfer protocol over telnet. So much error correction in traditional zmodem type file transfer protocols has been rendered redundant using tcp/ip in such a way that it actually creates more problems at this point than it solves.

You'd think we'd at least have been able to hornswaggle FTP in there. But its probably difficult to get it out there in volume. I don't know a terminal that'll support FTP. Then you'd have to get server code for who knows how
many different code bases out there now...

    Howdy,

Z modem generally has issues with latency. Even over lan here it'll give grief at times, and for some reason tends to fall over on larger files religously.

Zmodem has problems when 1 side is at a different speed to the other side, and it will always be the "faster side" that gives up. It is further exacerbated because of TCP windows, where the sender thinks everything is gone, but the receiver is backlogged draining the TCP window buffer.
