I am currently starting up green lettuce, cherry tomatoes, carolina reapers, serano purple peppers, madam Jeanet peppers. Most of them will
be trans- planted to pots later on, so I can keep them moving around to sunny/shady spots as needed.
We are also starting our plants indoors; it's been hard to keep the white web\like mold off the peat moss pots this season. I think it has something to do with one day being 70 degrees, and the next day 40 and snowing. I'm not over watering (I don't think?) but did unzip the green house a bit to allow for airflow.
My wife and I are starting Tomatoes, Hatch Green Chili, Jalapeno's, broccoli, and marigolds (to keep the rabbits and some bugs away). The remainder we can plant outdoors once the snow is off the ground: Squash, Zucchini, Cucumber, and I forget what else. We are planning on growing a lot more then prior years, utilizing every pot we would normally put flowers within, for herbs and veggies, in addition to our 15x20ish garden? I may even use flower beds if necessary. The more we don't have to depend on grocery stores this year the better.
I am curious to know if anyone has tried canning with an instant pot? Or how peeps are canning that have glass top stoves that one can not use pressure cookers with?
Last year, the reapers and cucumbers were the biggest success here. I decided that cucumbers are definitely coming back this year:)
Where abouts are you Onky? We had the Squash Borers eat away at the base of all of our zucchini, squash, cucumbers last year. I had never heard of them before, however had I noticed "saw dust" at the base of my plants last year, I could have rescued them. Just for an FYI (and Paulie had asked)
