Does the world need *another* door game server? Probably not! But I
started one anyway!

The goals are simple: preserve the past, showcase the future, and make it frictionless to join. GOLD MINE is in its infancy, but there's over 100
games, including newer/current game like LEGION RPG and WORDLE.

I've automated the sign-up process, so even when I'm away, it's easy to
hook up to your BBS.

Just hit [J] JOIN GOLD MINE from AlphaComplex.us:2323 Main Menu. Pop in
your BBS's domain name (no port) and it'll be queued to be added to the
next firewall whitelist update (every 20 minutes).

There's also an mRC door, in case you wan't to join weekly meatups but
aren't running Mystic.

** Also, please check out other door gamer servers like DoorParty,
BBSLink, CombatNet, and Black Country Rock game servers. They're all good choices. Hell, join them all! **

Awesome! I, personally, am overjoyed to see another (familiar) SysOp join a game server that I've joined. However, I'm not at all certain that my users will agree...especially when they find themselves being smote by people they never expected to exist... (\(>_<t)

To be clear, I am definitely not the only user on PiBBS, which can be found
by telnet at pibbs.sytes.net on port 23. Though, there are times when I feel the need to make (not very)subtle advertisements... (o_-)

Can I suggest Exitilus? It needs to be clear that there are some literal player-wiping bugs in that game, but it's still one of my favorites. Or,
maybe Legion? I hear that game is pretty great, and my own experience with it agrees!

I've heard of some Exitilus bugs, BUT... haven't played that door yet.

Quite literally, one can press the wrong button on some screens, and totally wipe the player data. Or, in my case, spill coffee on your keyboard at the wrong time...

I later found out that this was repeatable with button mashing.

:P Legion is fun, and since cr1mson actively works on it finding bugs or issues might be helpful in the next version.

Active dev support is very much a problem for BBS games, and why I got
excited when you mentioned Legion over in 2oforbeers!

At any rate, hoping more ops come to GM and we can chat about blazing
one or two doors up.

That might actually be my fault. I had a hard d/c while playing it a couple
of days ago...and, like many humans, perhaps the program just couldn't let me go... (o_-)

Nice! And if there's a game anyone wants added, just hit me up. Hardest
part is usually just tracking down the right keygen or code if it's
obscure and/or abandonware :)

If you are on linux and your BBS system doesn't support RLOGIN out, let
me know. I wrote a small door script that could help. And on Win,
TelnetDoor works gerat for connecting.

Personally, I'm addicted to GuTTeRBoWL RN -- but I suck at it...
