I'm not sure how many of you are running RCS Scrollz Announcements, but there will be a new version released VERY soon.
"What is RCS Scrollz Announcements?"
RCS Scrollz Announcements v1.0 public beta is written in MPL (Mystic Programming
Language) for use with Mystic BBS v1.12 A47+
This mod will scroll random text messages up to 255 characters long onto the menu of your choice. The MPL is completely customizable with an in depth INI file. You control the messages, the color, the speed and the exact location
on the screen where it will display.
Keep in mind, this MPL will *NOT* work properly on a menu where LightBars are enabled. The MPL will exit each time you hit an arrow key, and depending on how you have it set up, it will restart after each key press. This is a known issue, without any way to work around it at this time.
Within the .ini file, you can write up to 10 different banner messages that
you would like to display. The MPL will scroll these messages on the screen in random order. There is also checks in place to ensure the user does not see
the same message twice in a row.
"Ok, so it's like the Mystic scrolling messages?"
Well, it's similar. RCS Scrollz will allow you to display up to 10 different banners to the user, in random order. The one in Mystic will only allow 1 message, unless you do some fancy MPL work. :)
The Mystic scrolling message function is the better choice if you are running lightbars, as it's not an MPL running but rather Mystic's own code.

What's New:
* Added support for longer announcements. Now supports text up to 255 characters.
* Lines are truncated to 255 characters, if they are longer.
* Added support for wide screen, up to 160x60 resolution.
* Added Auto resize based on user's terminal size
* Put checks in place to keep message from extending beyond screen size.
* Added error checking to ensure proper input from the config file.
* Added logging to show errors and warnings and what default value is used.
* Hid the cursor instead of moving to the bottom of screen.
* Cleaned up some really ugly looking code.

Yes, it's running on the Main Menu here at Castle Rock BBS.

It will be hatched out in both fsxNet FSX_MUTL and Fidonet MYS_MOD file echos. Take a look for it within the next couple hours. The timing will actually depend on how long it takes me to type this message. ;)
