    Hello All,

I just made simple door to read Bible in the BBS together with simple bookmarking. I wonder. Would that be offensive to any of You if I would distribute it to the FSXNET FileArea?

    Thanks for any reply

    Best regards

    Shinobi

P.S. I'm not any of that sectists or anything like that. I just didn't find
any more generally available book to share.

That sounds cool to me. Upload that to Black Flag when you get a chance.

I'd be interested in this. :)

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I don't think it's possible to offend me... ;)

I wouldn't be offended, I don't think anyone would be unless perhaps
there were some kind of double standards for posting doors with religious texts, which I doubt there would be.

P.S. I'm not any of that sectists or anything like that. I just

Project Gutenberg used to have heaps of books as text files that were out

This is fine. It's a BBS mod, folks can install it or not, happy to
distribute it via fsxNet file echos.. :)

I don't see why not either. Might not be my cup of tea, but I believve in freedom of religion.

Done. I'm now playing with the main file. Have already read the fragment for today. It's kind of refreshing. I already did some news and research articles and now even something for the soul. I feel like now I can spend quite a lot
of time on my BBS. With all the add-ons I'm writing. It's very simple but me and my CPU prefer SyncTERM over World Wide Wait.

    Have a nice day Caphood

I'm just a bit unsure how it is with distribution regarding this text.

In the sense of copyright I mean.

    Hello Black Panther,

I'd be interested in this. :)

I just uploaded to Agency BBS the bit bug-fixed and improved ANSI VIEWER.
It's especially designed for the Bible file I sent previously.
The improvement is in the search. You can now search by Day and Chapter.
For now just sequentially from the point. But it kind of simplifies the
    thing.
Also there were several points in time where I got core dump.
I hopefully removed some of the main reasons to fail.
    However it's not bullet-proof.
I didn't write anything in C for ages.
Also I somehow felt into the reading of Bible each day. I don't know how
long will I continue. But it's an interesting read.
And I guess it's just part of classical education to read the Bible.
    At least once a life.
    There are many interesting parts.
No one forced me to do so.
But it's good entry point for programming ansi viewer for bigger files.
So far and thanks for letting me know You're interested in.

    Best regards

    Shinobi

Sorry I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. I've had too many things
going on outside the BBS hobby. (including this terrible head cold I've got...)

I've got tomorrow off, so I hope I'll be able to find some time to take a
    look at it.

No worry. What I wanted to tell You is this.

The binary ansiview... once it compiles can be used in general way as follows:

    1) it can open any file. There parameters are: ./ansiview <textfile> <username> 2) the username is there for a reason. You can bookmark Your progress in reading an ANSI Book using the <b> key. And then restore afterward using <g> goto bookmark
    3) Once it's used for Bible could be used for anything else. If anyone would have enough time there could be just any book prepared for the daily reading. Now I'm searching for "Chapter" and "*******" . In the Bible file there are both these to mark Chapters and Days for that the reading is. So using <s> or
<d> You can go through the text and read what it takes for given day
    4) I hope there won't be much coredumps anymore. I tried to debug some what I saw and I didn't crash it on bible anymore. I also added <i> begin of text
and <e> end of text. Scrolling is done by <k> line up and <j> line down. And there is <u> for page up and <n> for page down (at least if I recall correctly).
    5) You can find Install instructions in original BIBLE01.ZIP. Generally it's just placing bible_wrap.sh (or Your custom for any other book) into $BBS_PATH/scripts and test file (in this case bible.txt) into the $BBS_PATH/text. The ansiview has to be placed e.g. into $BBS_PATH/scripts. There is also need to edit the bible_wrap.sh according to Your paths. Then it could be called as door. You are supposed to call the wrapper from Mystic BBS and give it parameter %U for user to give it the possibility to bookmark the progress.

Please let me know in case You'd use it and find any difficulties. I'd gladly help You out.

    Best regards

    Shinobi

Thanks. I've been in bed by 9 - 9:30pm the last few nights. Today, I have
off, so I didn't get out of be until after 8am. Seems to have made a difference, as I'm almost feeling human today... :)
