But that does *not* explain the amount of hostility that exists in this community! To be fair, it's not everyone, just one or two of us. But it only takes one bad apple to ruin the entire barrel. And that bad apple has been stinking up my interactions since the day I arrived! t(>_<t)

I'm not about to throw in the towel because of a couple of internet trolls, but it gets frustrating, at times. I was certain that I had left this level of vitriol behind when I stopped using Facebull.

Clearly, I was wrong. The amount of wrong I was is both surprising and extremely frustrating.

I've been busy lately and find myself only paying attention to things with my name on it or lurk in just a few echoes. Everything else mostly gets skipped here, not even a blip of my limited attention span.

Trading banter via Netmail tends to be more enjoyable because nobody else can chime in on a conversation. I've exchanged messages with some here for years.

Doesn't Mystic have a twit filter so you do not toss/read messages from certain people? By throwing the towel in... "they win".

I am loathe to resort to that. I strongly believe people should have the right to free speech, even when I personally think they should shut the hell up. But, it may happen, eventually.

Mostly, I just wanted to blow off some steam, after a particularly harrowing interaction with one of these types.

Since you're using Mystic, add a twit filter option to your message menu:

This will hide messages both to and from the undesirables.

Shaun, you are 50% of the problem with Dan. Neither one of you ever lets anything go, and when one side does the other references them in public posts when talking with other people. The two of you take up about half of the posts in fsxNet.

Now if you're talking about your interactions with someone else that I'm not seeing, that's even worse.

No doubt. It does take two to tango, after all. However, I wasn't being specific to any person, or any particular event. Do you really think there's only one troll in this community? Certainly, the recent conversation in fsxNet has prompted this negative response on my part, but it isn't the *only* reason for the frustration I feel.

It's a "personal" twit filter per user. Anyone you add to that option will only hide it only for your user. Another user on your board will still be able to see those messages (unless they add those same names to their twit filter of course).

Don't feed the trolls (such as Wilfred van Dicklips--I mean Veltzen, Bjorn Felten or the rest of the Eurotrash). That just gets them aroused and they start spouting their crap.
