Please try enabling the new "Word-wrap Message Text" QWK option on Vetrauen

I just did. Let's see how that turns out.
I've now managed to configure SBBS to use OS/2 commands for most of the regular maintenance stuff, including QWK send/receive. Still a lot to be done, including cleaning up some of my ANSI art ... but this is starting to look pretty good :)

Thanks a lot (to all!) for the helpful replies here. Sorry for my tardiness; $dayjob has been taking up a lot of time..

Attempting to dump my QWK config below, if anyone has comments or suggestions as to what should be different.

    Include Message/Reply IDs : Yes <- SBBS v2 didn't support these

Extended (QWKE) Packet Format: Yes <- probably doesn't matter, but No would be more correct for SBBS v2 nodes

Changed the first (I wasn't able to figure out what to do with that one by reading docs). Left the second one on since even v2.30 makes references to QWKE, I think.. I'll look some more into that.

I now have three active nodes (two on OS/2 and a third in a DOS VDM in OS/2, just for kicks), and sharing the SBBS data via LAN Server so I can spin up nodes on other machines too. It's starting to look pretty good!

Just goes to show that software quality could be pretty good even 20-30 years ago. In many ways, even better than much that is produced today..
