• Synchronet Docker version

From Tracker1@1:103/705 to All on Sun Oct 1 17:32:42 2023
Is anyone using the bbs-io image of Synchronet for Docker currently? I know there are a lot of pulls, but curious if anyone is actively using this other than me. I mainly ask in that Synchronet seems to have trouble in dealing with symlinked directories and relative paths, it uses the actual location to base relatively locations instead of the path being used at load.

ex: /sbbs-dist/exec is symlinked to /sbbs/exec
    /sbbs/ctrl exists

Then it'll give errors tring to run stuff such as the update scripts.

I'm considering just copying /sbbs-dist/exec to /sbbs/exec as part of the migration detection for version changes, which would put the exec directory in the volume mount (which shouldn't be needed). This is mainly a new issue from 3.19 to 3.20, and wasn't experienced in other releases before this, at least for me.

What I'm mainly curious about is if I break things slightly from prior images, who might be impacted by this.

I'm wanting to get moved forward to 3.20, as it will make it easier to write scripts against the new ini based configurations than the binary formats previously used.
