This is a Technical Support echo for Buffalo Creek's
Spitfire BBS Software and related utilities.
Spitfire Utility Program announcements are welcome
and encouraged. Spitfire Utility authors wanting to
use this echo for support or beta testing such program(s)
are encouraged to do so. Please note that software written
specifically for Spitfire is preferred. Other utilities
that are not specific for Spitfire BBS's shall require
prior approval by the Moderator(s). If message traffic
becomes a problem to the participants of this echo the
    Moderator(s) may restrict access.
Discussions which relate to the Business Practices of
Buffalo Creek Software other than general statements
which can be supported by written documentation originating
from Buffalo Creek Software are Off-Topic. General chit
chat is permitted, however, deep discussion of topics
suitable for other Echos are not permitted.

    Q. Who is elegible to post here?
A1. Any current, or former Spitfire sysop.
    OR....
A2. Anyone who is currently developing, or upgrading a
    Spitfire utility.
    01. Play nice. (This covers a lot of ground, but you
know what it means). If you don't play nice,
    we'll have to separate you.
    02. This Echo is available to all persons interested
in Spitfire BBS Software. Please set your security
level high enough so that the casual user does not
fall into the echo by mistake. All FidoNet rules
    and regulations apply.
    03. Real Names will be used in the Echo. If your BBS
software utilizes "handles" and you can't change it,
then you must sign your real name at the bottom of
    your messages.
    04. Stay on topic. Keep at least one foot on the subject
of SPITFIRE BBS software. If a topic is declared
off-topic by the moderators, for heaven's sake,
please comply. We don't like hassles any more
    than you do.
    05. Foul language, flaming, or insults will NOT be
    tolerated.
    06. Don't be easily annoyed. Be helpful and Considerate.
We were all new at this at one time and had to follow
    the learning curve.
    07. ANSI Graphics are *NOT* permitted in any message. Keep
signatures down to three lines or less.
    08. Keep your quoting to the minimum necessary to establish
the context of your reply. Certainly, don't quote more
    than you originate.
    09. TRY NOT TO TYPE WITH THE CAPS KEY DOWN. This is known as
shouting, and is bad typing practice. It is also hard
    to read.
    10. No Encrypted mail flow is allowed...PERIOD!
    11. No programs are to be transmitted as a message.
Small portions of source code for clarification
    purposes will be allowed.
    12. Gating the FidoNet Spitfire Echo shall be directed
by the Moderator with the assistance of Co-Moderator(s).
All Networks Gating into this echo must abide by this
Echo's Rules and Current FidoNet Policy.
    13. Please leave ALL moderating to the Moderators. All
policy decisions will be made by the Moderator of
this Echo. If you disagree, or have a complaint,
send me a netmail message anytime at the address above.
The position of a Co-Moderator will be handled by
    appointment by the Moderator.
    14. DO NOT respond to any Moderation messages in the echo.
If you do not agree with this policy then DO NOT use
the echo! eMail the Moderator if you wish to respond
    to a Moderation Message.
Moderation Messages will be clearly defined as those
in which the Moderator use their title directly beneath
their name at the end of a message.
    15. Messages determined to be excessively annoying by the
Moderator will not be tolerated and will result in a
SINGLE (1) NetMail Message warning from the Moderator
prior to official action being taken as outlined in
    the current FidoNet policies.
    16. That's it, except that if someone comes up with a new
and improved way to aggravate all and sundry we reserve
the right to make a rule to fit the occasion.

Wonderful!! I ran SF from 93-00 and took a hiatis. I still have my original 3.5's from Mike along with all my old setup files for FD, Alexi and a whole buch of other stuff. Are you using NetFoss to connect or are you still using POTs?

    Enjoy!!

That no longer supports Y2K. You would need 3.7

Yes, but if you want to run SF again, you will need 3.7
I did some testing for Mike Woltz to get the PASCAL compiler corrected
to support the year after 1999 as 2000, not 19100.
Most of the code works, but some older legacy DOORS still do not accept 2000 +. I had to create some work arounds for my SFROM door. It kept deleting requests thinking that the expiration date was past so it
deleted saved requests. Mike is still issuing updates for past
    registered users.

Ernest, I understand what you meant. I know 3.7 is available for download on BCS, but I was talking about my original copy on 3.5" discs.... not the version. Not sure if I know reg # anymore.

he was always good at doing updates and keeping up with the latest and greatest. I guess everyone was affected by Internet.. :/

    Be well...
