The smaller window-like command window with the drop-downs is a good improvement. Since the user has to use the mouse to select the
command menu anyway, it is not much more difficult activate the
dropdown options. With the previous "numbered" commands I was always checking to make sure I entered the right number.
I tried the Setup option to "Change GoldEd theme", but the different numbered options did not seem to make any difference.

I tried it and I didn't see any difference either.
I also noticed an option to configure the GoldED template file(s), so
I selected it and up popped a basic text editor containing =>
nothing!
I think we have to bear in mind that this is very much a work in
progress and to have a bit of patience :)

Hi August, I'm working on making the changes you suggested thank
you

That takes me to C:\Points where I can see other user directories

your own dir MartinF and edit the TPL there?

as a beginner ... Logically using golded+ all the features are included
including the dos shell that I don't know how to disable .... Maybe
someone has any ideas?

Also, a few outbound netmails still have not arrived elsewhere. Could that be because my point number, 333/808.7, still not appear in the nodelist?
And a recent echomail that I wrote in POINTS about an hour ago still has not made it outside your system.

I see 2:333/808.7 listed in the Z2 Pointlist(Z2PNT.059).

Yes.. BUT, it doesn't appear in the webpoint environment. :(
When I enter my own name (or even your name) my 333/808.7 (or your 333/ 808.8) address does not come up in the GoldEd nodelist lookup.
Hello Thomas, FYI.. The theme selections seem to be working now. Accessing the GoldEd .TPL files seems to be cooperating now too.Hi August, I corrected two problems;
But it may not be a good idea to allow dropping to a shell from

Hi August, I corrected two problems;
the first the fact that if the user went into the dos shell he
could see all the files of the system (now as soon as you try the
screen is closed immediately) and then you must select function 7
to restart golded+
the second now both the pointlist and the nodelists are
automatically filled in as soon as I receive them from my hub and
therefore you will always find them updated.
Thanks for your reports.
When I enter my own name (or even your name) my 333/808.7 (or your
333/808.8) address does not come up in the GoldEd nodelist lookup.
The reason for that is that he's using Z2PNT.038 but our entries in
the Z2 Pointlist didn't appear until Z2PNT.059

Yes, I now see golded.tpl loaded in the editor but I haven't madeHi Martin, how many inches does your monitor have? If you see small I assume you have a very high resolution ....
any changes yet, as I find the editor window far too small for
my liking and I find it difficult to see where the cursor is.
I'd like to help with testing etc. but I cannot get my head around
the small size of the GoldED and text editor windows.

Molto buona! Grazie. And thanks for changing the "Menu WEB Point"Hi you can always change the number of menu columns under the settings.
in single column as per my suggestion. I'll post a screenshot of
the new adjustment at: http://openxp.kolico.ca/pointweb-on-17/
The last 3 pictures in the group show what I've settled with.
Where is the section in the .TPL that allows the adjustments for the "Hello NAME!" of the replies? I did not see any particular string
"Hello" in there.

I can now make the GoldED window even bigger(100 x 35) than it was before(85 x 35), which makes things *much* better :-)

Look for the section "Normal template begins" BUT .....
I've made the necessary changes to my own copy of golded.tpl but they haven't had any effect. I've reported this to the SysOP, stay toooned.

Just by way of supporting your statement: I do the same with GoldEd on my little Dell Latitude 2100, running Puppy Linux 5.28 with a 10.1" screen. Nice. :)

Do we have to explicitly remember to force a "7. Send/ReceiveIt does this when you send and receive messages or when you enter the system .... but soon I will make sure that every tot minutes it automatically does this function.

webpoint system do that on "9. Exit"?

After logging in and starting your Web Point, it is now necessary to select "7. Receive Messages", followed by clicking the "OK" button.
Sveiks Martin! 14 Mar 20 09:53, you wrote to me:

count hadn't changed when I knew that new messages should have
arrived since last time. Having the user explicitly select "7."
for receiving (and "8." for sending) is good procedure to get
accustomed to this webpoint environment where the user is totally responsible for processing the incoming and outgoing messages. It
is not much different when using OpenXP where we explicitly "poll"
to move messages.
Another change that has been made is that sending and receiving
commands for areafix are independent and do not involve sending
messages that you have written and do not want to send (as per
your suggestion).
I don't see an option in the menu for doing a %QUERY, perhaps youI just entered it in the main menu.
could add one?
