depots, and a small section of track...but the rest has been converted to trails, or is gone altogether. The depots have been repurposed for places like the local Chamber of Commerce (Lonoke) to an insurance business (Hazen).
The old B&O station a few blocks from here is a visitors centre and other things. The old storage sheds are various business.
We also have "ghost" tracks here and there that were part of the B&O.
These are usually now trackless green spaces.
On my trip last year I saw parts of the Erie Canal that have
survived. There was one working lock that was preserved as it would
have been. But not well marked and I drove past and turned around.
Outside Fredericksburg, VA part of the C&O canal is still there. The horse path is a walking trail now but one can see where it was. Its a
dry depression in the land now and not been used for many a year.
To get to it takes a bit of time going down this narrow road.
