That's where I learned to become a touch typist. I've never had a
typing course in my life.
I took a typing class in HS and learned to touch type on a upright Royal
manual. For the longest time that was all I could write on, manuals.
In the Navy we used electrics and I hated those those. The officer in
charge dug out a manual from somewhere for me. (It was just filling in form JM>no letters or anything like that. Sort of pre-historic data entry).
I could neeeeeever gettt the hannggg of electricsssssssssss. I have a
bad tendency to rest my fingers on the keys at times.
In J school in college the newsroom was full of manuals clattering away
as typewriters should. :)
I was often accused of using a tripe-writer. :)

This was obviously before the Cornonavirus...but some folks thought
