Joe,
I've been doing too much groveling lately, that Joe may be
getting bored with it. <G>
I never get bored with your groveling. Its a constant amusement.
At least I'm good for something.
Speaking of crazy things...after calling my insurance company to report
a chip and crack in my windshield, I filed a claim. I'll have to pay a
$100 deductible, but when I was out there today, apparently the cost of
self pay, can be nearly $700, if not more.
Well, I first went out to Safelite on Monday, March 1, and they said they would have to replace the windshield, as the crack was too large. So, they
set me up for Friday, March 5 (today).
There was only one problem...they scheduled it for MEMPHIS and NOT for LITTLE ROCK.
They did NOT discover it until today, until I had gotten there...hence,
a wasted trip. So, they have rescheduled it for next Saturday, March 13...
and as "compensation", they'll install 2 new wiper blades for no charge.
This was the third time this week that had happened...and no one knows
why their software is acting up.
With all I've spent on the vehicles in the last few weeks, it's like I
bought a new car. But, it takes 8 to 10 weeks for the State Of Arkansas
to produce a "Title" after one pays the sales tax (I had to pay $729; at
least 7%, if not more), and gets the license tags. I have to wonder if
there's only 1 person doing the work for 75 counties.
With the exchange of the 2009 Volvo 2 door hardtop convertible (due to
a parts shortage, and it had been nearly 3 weeks since I had taken it
back to the dealership (a family owned business the last 35 years, who
deals only with pre-owned vehicles), they exchanged it for a 2013 Chevy Cruze...which is much nicer, and much larger...not to mention cheaper on insurance.
Yet, with purchasing vehicles, you only have 30 days to get the car tags.
I had paid the sales tax and purchased the tags for the Volvo 2 days before
I took it in for service. The Cruze was the same price as the Volvo, but I
will still have to pay a $50 exchange fee (I'm sure the state would prefer another $729 sales tax fee).
So, I have to go back to the dealership before March 11, to get a new temporary tag. With my luck, I'd get pulled over and ticketed for driving
on expired temporary tags...I see these all the time.
