• Driving in comfort

I'm driving, in air conditioned comfort,

What made you abandon your two-wheel drive with your female companion? Albeit two times two equals four, it's not the same as a four-wheeler...

Some of us here in Fidonews really loved your weekly reports from yesteryears, you know?

My "female companion" got a better offer and moved on along with her motorcycles.

I kept up those outback trips for a few years more until I decided I just couldn't keep fit enough to manage the trips. That and an RSI issue with my elbows which made riding a large motorcycle particularly unpleasant.

And the four wheeler has aircon.

I was on the road from just before New Year until early February this year visiting country New South Wales - the daily temperatures were often 44C. That would not be nice on a motorcycle.

Although travelling now in airconditioned comfort my trips are no longer sufficiently exciting to warrant writing about.

The motorcycle trips tended to be travelling every day (16000km in 3 weeks and distances like that) were-as now I'm inclined to stop for a week or so here or there and just soak up the serenity.
