    His comment *was* specifically comparing it to another country --
    Russia. Nor do he say anything about "an absolute scale".

    Economy isn't all about how much money you make (GDP for a country). It also involves how much money you spend and, as a result, your accumulated debt.

    USA has a global debt bigger than 100% of their GDP, Russia has a global debt of 11%. So I would say that Russia has a ten times more "fantastic" economy.

    A former Swedish PM once said that "he who is in debt is not free". There's much wisdom in that IMHO. When the bank owns your house and your car, your freedom is very limited...
