• Using Oil in an Air Frier

From Mike Powell@1:2320/107 to ALL on Tue Mar 10 10:12:03 2026
Yesterday, google suggested that, as part of my food prep, that I put oil
    into my air frier.

I wasn't sure if that meant "put it in the bottom of the fry pan" or "cover
the cooking surface insert" in it. As it also sounds like a good way to
make fire, which I was not trying to do, I decided to skip that step.

Does anyone here who uses an air frier ever put cooking oil in it? If so,
    how so?

    Mike

    HAHAH NO!

Isn't that the entire point of the air fryer - to NOT use oil? Or use it very sparingly to coat dry veggies or whatnot.

... Electricity is really just organized lightning.

The point of an air fryer is not to use oil. I wouldn't trust that recipe at all.

I'm very suspect of that recipe Mike talked about. I'd never use oil in an
air fryer unless you want a fire.
