New camper had been doing well but for some relativly minor things that will be addressed once we get home. Haven't tried the oven yet but may,
we shut it, just to make sure it's locked before hitting the road.
A;ways teething problems with new equipment before everything settles
in and becomes "second nature."
I've been reading the echo almost every day but not had the chance
I've been experiencing the joys of being 81 - not least of which are
from the COPD and Emphysema that heve been there, in the background - watiting. I rather wish they were still waitiing. Especially since I
am quite sure that they are caused by my cavalier treatment of this
body when I was a younger person and still 'KNEW IT ALL". Bv(=
Enjoy the rest of your tirp(S).

Seems like more money is needed to buy less bacon these days.

We've bought them ever since Aldi moved into WF, some 10 or 12 years
ago. Got some in the camper freezer now.

Yes, and differences from the R-Pod make it just quirky enough at
times.

Sounds like no fun. I've been fighting an asthma flare up caused by several factors but excacerbated by younger daughter's dusty house and
(at least) 6 cats plus the same number of dogs, which were, thankfully kept outside whenever we were over. Good thing I brought an extra albuterol inhaler with me; I will probably need it before we get home.

As I told a custormer the other day - "Only two rhings go down these
days. Your pay packet and your left, front tyre." Bv)=

Never lasts long enough around here to freeze it. I remember awaking a fair number of folks here on the choice chocolates from ALDI. That's a plasce wehere having the USDA Establi9shment Number Database on the smarty-pants phone comes in handy.

My doctor tells me that the Albuterol is a "rescue" implement. I was having a problem the other day even w/5 litres og oxygen from the
portable generator but the inhaler brought the numberd up 15 to 20
points very quickly.

Yes, I call it my "American Express". Being around animals (especially long haired) and significant amounts of dust will kick in the need for help several times a day until I get away from the triggers. Then the
need will decrease, eventually getting to the point where I don't need albuterol--until the next triggers. Trouble is, the lungs are so
scarred up that it doesn't take that much to set off an attack.

We're going to be in southern UT this week end, camping just about
under the path of totality. Will start heading east after the week end, tentativly getting back home before the next week end.

Just returned from a few days in hospital. Woke up in mid-air on the
way to the floor. Did the classic 9*1*1 "HELP! I've fallen and I can't
get up!"
Root cause for the fall was a collapsed lung - something new to me.
The pulmonologists have re-inflated the lung. Nor, just to keep it so.

Not fun; I presume you had a phone handy or some sort of alert system.

Sounds like a pneumothorax. I usually have an atalectasis where
something (usually a broken rib) pushes the lung down from outside.
About the only thing to do then is to wait it out; some days are more painful than others, same with breaths. Weather has turned cold and wet
so I'm coughing (and grabbing the albuterol) more often.

Update--we were in the totallity path so it was quite fascinating to
watch the progress. Got outside before it started and every so often
would look up at the sun (with the saftey glasses). Temps definatly
cooled off as it progressed. Steve was able to link in with a group of
ham operators in western US, I think Wyoming and Utah, plus other areas
so gave them progress reports. After it was over we made lunch, then
took the girls to meet up with their parents. Spent a quiet day in camp
on Sunday, then hit the road on Monday. We stopped in Frankfort, KY for some Ale 8 Zero soda and Rebecca Ruth's chocolates, spending the night
in a Cracker Barrel parking lot in Beckley, WVA. Home, with probably 3 loads of laundry tomorrow.

I had my house-mate and his youngest son try to he'p me bac to my
feet. When that produced scant results Dennis picked up the house
phone and
did the 9*1*1 trick. I remember the ride to the hospital and getting unloaded from the bus. My next conscious notice of anything was from
the bed of my room in I.C.U.

It was the lower half of the right lung. Once the Foley and the Lasix
did their jobs of clearing liquids from the system it re-inflated
without other intervention. PHEW!

I've done both solar and lunar totalities. I much prefer the lunar
guys.
