I'll make you the same off I made Married Ruth. I've downloaded the Lookout Cookbooks PDFs and converted them to .DOC format so I can C & P the recipes. I can e-mail attach them to you in either format.

Glad you have enthusiasm for the Lookout Cookbooks!
Yes, please email me the .DOC format cookbooks.
    I already have the PDFs.

They're a lot easier to cut and paste from than the PDFs.

But, be warned, You'll need to keep the PDFs handy for reference the
conversion to plain text has "some errors" or holidays where important information is missing or scrambled.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Forest Service Chocolate Pie
    Categories: Pastry, Desserts, Chocolate, Dairy
    Yield: 6 servings

    2 oz (squares) unsweetened
    - chocolate
    +=OR=+
    4 tb Cocoa
    1 pt Milk
    3 tb A-P flour
    3/4 c Sugar
    1/2 ts Salt_
    2 lg Eggs
    1 tb Butter
    1 ts Vanilla
    1 Pre-baked pie shell

Heat the chocolate and milk. Mix the flour; sugar and
salt thoroughly. Add some of the hot liquid, mix well,
and return to heat. Stir until thickened, cover, and
cook for 15 minutes. Beat well. Pour some of this into
the beaten egg yolks and combine with the rest of the
mixture. Add the butter and vanilla. Pour into a baked
pie crust, let stand while making the meringue

Spread meringue over the chocolate filling to the edge
of the crust and bake in a moderate oven for 15 to 20
    minutes, or until lightly browned.

Serve cold so that the filling has time to set. Instead
of meringue, pie may be covered with whipped cream just
    before serving.

The 1930s versions translated over to .doc format pretty well. The 1954
.... noy so much. In trying to get a better version of the '54 pamphlet
I downloaded a freeware PDF reader/translator called Expert PDF Reader
which does all the things tha Adobe Acrobat does - better, And it's my favourite price - FREE.
