I don't drink coffee before bed but I do have coffee with dinner at 6
or 7 PM and have no problem sleeping.
My father-in-law is like that. He'll be watching TV, get up and make
a single cup of coffee, drink it, fall asleep on the couch 30 minutes later & then get up and go to bed.
Then there's me who can't drink caffeine after 3pm or I'm up all
night...
9 isn't so much. There was a time I'd have 9 cups before lunch.
And for what it's worth, it had zero effect on my sleep. If anything,
I sleep worse since I've cut down.
The caffeine effect lasts about 4-6 hours. So, by 11p-1a you're good to go. But don't you get up in the night more often to pee?
I know someone who gets an allergic reaction to coffee, (throat swells, heart races, face turns red) and she still will have a coffee.
So, maybe you are experiencing something similar, but your body is not manifesting as an allergic reation. Instead there is enough trauma in your body to make sleep impossible.
There was time when I had as much during the weekdays M-F at work and wonder *why* I was getting consistent headaches Sunday mornings. These were unusual headaches that felt like they were behind my eyeballs and there was no way to assuage them.
I imagined that I would have to tear out my eyeballs to get at it.

I'd be sitting my my desk at work and suddently my watch alerts me
that my heart rate has been over 120bpm while I appear to be
stationary. I'd also be very hot and aparantly I looked flushed. Waaaaaayyyy too much caffeine for my system it would seem...
Now I have one medium in the morning and another at lunch & that's it. Unless it's the weekend, in which case I may live like a rock start &
have a third! ;)

Maybe someone snuck decaf in the pantry. :)

I pee at 5am every morning. Unfortunately, I don't wake up until 6. ;)
Sorry, I had to add that. It was too perfect.
But don't you get up in the night more often to pee?
Only when I drink beer.. ;)
I made the coffeine withdrawal connection only when I decided to ease
off on that stuff too fast.
Or like the late Red Skelton noted once...
"Tinkling in your pants is like friendship. Everyone can see it...
but, only you can feel its true warmth". <G>

That's true...beer is a diuretic...but coffee and tea are as well.
I saw a video on YouTube today from the Canadian group of Bowser and
Blue. I had seen their one on "Praise To The Colorectal Surgeon", and
"My Vasectomy"...but saw "The Prostate Song" today...it was a hoot!!
I try to avoid the caffeine, but have noticed it helps preventmigraine
headaches.
coffee.
I never acquired a taste for it.

"But caffeine is recognized to help alleviate migraines.
Before a headache or migraine, blood vessels tend to..
There is a small chance of "coffee rebound" causing
additional head aches, but it's usually pretty small
chance, as long as you don't overdo the coffee.

That is true. I do miss Red Skelton. Every once and awhile I'll watch
his shows on Amazon Prime.

True, it's good practice not to drink too much coffee (or beer) and eat too many bran muffins at the same sitting. ;)

I saw them at a couple of live shows. They were certainly laugh-out
loud events. Great memories. And I mean *they* had excellent memory recall to remember all the lyrics of their many tunes too.

I remember all my friends in high school would drink coffee. I never really liked the taste of it, I'm more of a tea guy. (A lot of them
also smoked which I never took up either).
Further on down the road I dropped the sugar all together and now just order my coffee w/ 2 cream, no sugar.
There was a show in Branson, Missouri several years ago, with Tom Mullica doing a tribute to Red....you thought Red Skelton had come
back from the dead!!

There are several possibilities:
1) Working too long in front of the computer.
2) Taking too many pain medications (the strongest I take is a 400 mg Ibuprofen, and I don't do that every day).
3) A combination of a severe concussion and 2 lightning strikes over
the years.
I had to look him up, and found a few videos on youtube of his shows.
It looks like he was spot-on with his performance of Red.
It's a shame that comedy today isn't even close to the same level as
it was back in the days of Red Skelton, Jerry Lewis, etc...

I think we've all thought about taking our coffee intravenously at one time or another... ;)

Fast forward to today, and my morning routine, as it's been since
1991, is having a cup of coffee before the house wakes up, and
reading a QWK packet.

I didn't have my first drink of coffee until my sophomore year in
college. I remember thinking "Hey, I could get into this..."

I was very little when Red was on TV. My parents enjoyed him. But I thought his laughing at his own jokes deflated the potential of a joke.
Nevertheless, there was good imagination and talent.
WRT Tom Mullica.. I just rewatched a vid of a card + smoking trick.
It's still very entertaining to see it again.
However, Benny Hill was pretty darn good too!

Dehydration?

Not a good long-term solution. You'll probably end up with a
prescription for anti-liver failure.
3) A combination of a severe concussion and 2 lightning strikes over
the years.
Oh yeah! I forgot about those. Wouldn't doubt that it would mess up
your physiology just a wee bit.

Which editor do you use with Multimail? I notice the default on Mac is TextEdit and Notepad on Windows. I assume there are better options. I noticed IceEdit has an offline mode available.
