AFAICT, they're ok... this is also from the console terminal... what i see above is how they looked before i entered this editor...

i'll have to take a look at your post from my golded setup on my point... i'm sure the characters won't show up properly there because of its CP437 heritage and that i'm running golded in a CP437 conversion wrapper...

i see the same here as i did on the console... not sure why other than maybe the CP866 thing... there's still work being done on sbbs' unicode implementation so it may be that it doesn't know how to translate those... i dunno... i don' think it is related to my font on this system, though... i spent the other day all down in the font rabbit hole and finally found the unifont stuff which i promptly installed...

Last I heard about it the default is to assume cp437 -> utf8 which when "CHRS: CP866 2" would be wrong. Bottomline is that all the 8-bit characters retained their values and didn't get deleted.

yeah, i dunno... i don't know how sbbs is doing it...

the tests i saw the other day were good other than bad wordwrapping... i would have thought i'd have seen the proper glyphs for these two but i don't know what the differences between the message is...
