• FIDOIN event issue

From RickV@VERT to All on Wed Apr 29 18:31:45 2026
    Hello everybody!

In my FIDOIN event I have a java script that I created that runs a couple of other things and tosses the mail, but when it runs it opens a normal sized window on the PC instead if being minimized. This seems to have started a few months ago and I can't figure out why. Anyone have a thought on this? It was minimized in the taskbar before.

    Windows 11/64 Pro
    Synchronet 3.21e

    Thanks,
    RickV

How do you have the FIDOIN event configured in SCFG?

Do you have Options = XTRN_MINIMIZED (likely with other option flags) in the [bbs] section of your ctrl/sbbs.ini file? This correlates with the "Minimize externals" checkbox in the SBBSCTRL->Terminal Server->Config dialog.

I also have that dialog box checked to "Minimize externals"

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nFXgwiUtN5oj-wLLuyHqldBJ-wFLPa36/view?usp=s har ing

That's text, so you should be able to just select/copy and paste into a messaage (in the future).

And I also un-commented the XTRN_MINIMIZE in th sbbs.ini, but it still oper the window in normal mode.

So that command-line ("?copy_inbound.js") runs in-process, it's not "external". So I'm guessing that whatever copy_inbound.js is doing is what is opening a window on your desktop. So the next obvious question would be, what's in copy_inbound.js?

Nobody has any idea what that custom .js script is doing. That's
    probably what's opening a window.

You don't "uncomment" it... you add it to the "Options = " line.

What it's suppose to do is copy all inbound mail, files, etc from the "inbound" directory to my inbound directory for my MysticBBS setup, then toss it for SBBS, and then Mystic. Mail and the tick files

That doesn't really answer the question: what's in copy_inbound.js?
