    Hey,

It looks like they're doing remote Amateur radio testing now, and I figure it's about time I take the plunge and go for my Technician's license at the very least.

Does anyone know some good online study guides/tutorials? I know the Technician's license test is pretty easy, but I definitely need a place to start.

    Thanks!

There's a licence test quiz door on many synchronet boards. Grab a study guide off Amazon, take a read (Should be able to get through info for basic/technician in a couple days), test yourself, and go through areas you're having issue with :)

My co-worker suggested I just pick up the "HamStudy" app for Android. it was like $3, and is pretty straightforward. Really I'm just memorizing all the answers to all the possible questions.

My next step is to figure out what kind of rig I should start with. SDR seems to be the "new hotness" and I've got plenty of spare computing power laying around to run such devices, but I'm absolutely lost when it comes to frequency ranges.

Guess I should get to reading.
