Agreed! The Universal monster movies are classics. Sven Goolie was playing them for a while, I don't know if he still does. Where I am now we don't
get MeTV and it drives me nuts. I was hoping FireStick would carry it so
I could watch the old black and white horror films but no such luck.

I am afraid I have yet to watch most Universal monster movies. I loved Frankenstain myself. "Now I know what it feels like to be God!" Still gives me the creeps. Also, the actor playing the hunchback went on to a sucessful career playing, errr, hunchbacks.
I bought a DVD pack with 50 horror classics in it. So far I think only
10 of them are actual classics, but even the B-quality ones are
actually quite enjoyable. Lots of Boris and Lugosi in the pack! I feel
bad for Lugosi, though, as he would have become much more of a
celebrity if he hadn't had the missfortune of competing with Boris.
For the record, I used to source my DVDs from oldies.com. Lots of
classic films and TV shows in there for cheap. If your Internet
connection sucks it is better to rder the DVDs than to pirate the
movies, as long as you order in bulck and pick offers :-P

Okay, I have a lot of movies that I like. I don't know if they fall
under the "Best of All Time" but I know what I enjoyed watching and
what I re-watch from time to time.
The Sound of Music (1965) - I love this film because it reminds me of happy memories from my childhood. Also, when I finally (as a youngster) watched it completely, paying attention and all, I remember being surprised that it was also a story about a family fleeing from the Nazi's. Cool movie. Sappy, perhaps, but Julie Andrews is awesome. :-) Yes, I am aware of Christopher Plummer calling it the Sound of Mucus.

Are you talking about that movie with Val Kilmer? I don't think the movie was worthy of making it to the list, but it had some awesome performances (thand the film was actually quite good)

I almost forgot about the "Dirty Harry" series of films, and Lord of the Rin Aliens as well. Not to forget the Lara Croft series, or the Mummy series although I wasn't much of a fan of the 3rd one. The effects were good but th storyline wasn't as good as the first two IMHO.
I usually hit 123movies.to. I even found the original
1966 Batman movie up there!.. also the Adam West TV
series. Interesting what you can find to stream these
days.

My folks took me to see this for my Birthday. I remember being

Have you seen "Final Wars"? The japanese take a funny dig at the American Zilla :D I believe I have all of the films both Japanese and U.S. They had
a special showing of Final Wars at the Kodak theature in Rochester(?), NY
and all the original japanese actors were supposed to be in attendance. No one wished to go with me there. That would have been a fun road trip.

To be honest, I liked her better in the first Mummy movie. I din't like her look that much in the 2nd film.
Where I was at the time would have been a 4-5 hour drive one way. Since
I enjoy driving it would have been fine. I could have had some of my DVDs autographed in Japanese <G>

There was a British director named Michael Powell who did several fantastic films in the 1940's and 1950's. including "A Matter of Life
and Death," which I should have included on my list, and was a big influence on Martin Scorsese.
He later did a horror movie about a serial peeping tom/killer that was very vivid and somewhat tarnished his career for people who were not as familiar with his earlier work. I have not seen that one.

For a while, there was a cable network that showed old shows. Then
they strayed from that format. They may be back to it again. TV LAND.
I wonder if there is a way to stream MeTV from their website?
Here, I can only get it because it is on our cable. Now that
everything is digital, it is difficult to pull in the over the air stations from the closest TV markets. If I lived close enough to pull them in, and didn't get MeTV on cable, I would try getting a cheap
antenna and seeing if I could watch it that way.
