I started using TheDraw Registered today! I love it! 3 seconds of my life, returned to me on each execution of thedraw.exe!

Or am I just some kind of impatient millennial who can't wait 3 seconds for something?

It's cool. I know there are TheDraw fans around the world who wish they could bypass the splash-screen, or shorten it. --Has that been done!? Can that be hex-edited out or something?

And has anyone heard from the author of that thing lately? lol It would be funny and interesting as hell to hear from Mr. Ian Davis!!!

I never got into TheDraw besides making a small change here or there to a
    file.

I am a big fan of PabloDraw. Cross platform and as a Mac user, a native build for OS X is always nice.

It's probably a regional thing. I'm from 607. Plus, it's probably an artist thing; we aren't artists in 607. We just need something to draw the everyday stuff with.

I know Pablo has been around for decades, but I just recently began using it
on a recommendation for VIEWING ansis, which I will have to say, it kicks ass for that purpose. TheDraw doesn't let you scroll-through like that. You have
to alt-L each file. I'll give Pablo a shot on my next draw.

I have also become a big fan of Mystic's built in ANSI editor. It is great
for quick and dirty changes but also powerful enough to draw full blown
ANSIs. I do draw some stuff myself, but it's more menus and such. All of the menus here on the Diskshop I did but for serious images, I am the wrong guy. Most of the serious stuff on here was drawn by Jack Phlash.

No, one of the main reasons I haven't upgrade one of my Macs, so I can still use it.

I knew that what it doesn't have, which I use often in PabloDraw, is network drawing where you can host a session and multiple people can work on an ansi.
I really need it as I am that bad that people have to fix my shit as I go along.

Otherwise I just ask our accredited ansi master from Impure to help me out.

Could also be an age thing maybe? TDRAW was the only good ANSI editor I
ever really heard about in the late 1980's/early '90's. There was one
other one but it was very lacking in features (but may have also been freeware).

I did not hear about Pablo until much later.

AFAIK, He never released the source. If you know where it is, point it in my direction and I will work on getting it working with Catalina.

The only thing we have had an issue with on moebius is it doesnt' seem to
fill out the ansi to the full column widths, so i have to go pad it with
spaces after the fact in the mystic ansi editor if say the last line of the header is not the full width of the screen.

There may be a setting to change that I'm not sure, we couldn't find it.

Not a terrible issue, but slightly annoying. I think it's because it assumes the background is black, and if the screen text is supposed to be black there it just doesn't write anything (even if you try and pad it with black squares)

I did not hear about Pablo until much later.

I'm sure that I saw Pablo around in at least the late 90s. From what I can vaguely remember, it was different; more like TheDraw, but with awkward character sets. Does that sound familiar?

It looks way different to me now - being a Windows program and with such
smooth ansi-viewing. And that's all I've used it for so far.
